Position Overview:
The Senior Systems Administrator will oversee the stable operation, maintenance, and support of in-house computer software systems and network infrastructure. This role involves planning, developing, installing, configuring, and optimizing network systems and communication links. The Senior Systems Administrator is responsible for organizing and directing the configuration and operation of information management systems, resolving end-user connectivity and software issues, and conducting capacity and performance analyses. Additionally, they will develop automation tools, procedures, and provide training to enhance operational efficiency while ensuring security and fault tolerance across multiple deployment sites.
Key Responsibilities:
-Ensure the reliable operation of all in-house software systems and network connections.
-Plan, develop, install, configure, support, and optimize all network software and communication links.
-Organize and oversee the configuration, operation, and management of information systems.
-Analyze and troubleshoot end-user software and connectivity problems.
-Conduct capacity planning and performance analysis to recommend system upgrades and configuration changes.
-Enhance administrator efficiency through automation tools and scripting; develop procedures and conduct training sessions.
-Provide end-user training and support to promote effective system use.
-Offer strategic recommendations on technology direction aligned with organizational goals.
-Deliver both local and remote maintenance support for operational systems across multiple locations.
-Perform general system maintenance, upgrades, and installations of servers and applications.
-Supervise and coordinate work activities of other system administrators, focusing on resource optimization and user assistance.
-Apply advanced knowledge of application networking, including load balancing and fault tolerance mechanisms.
-Implement vulnerability management practices to ensure system security.
Minimum Requirements:
-BA/BS degree in a technical discipline.
-At least ten (10) years of specialized experience in information processing environments, with a focus on hardware/software solutions.
-A minimum of four (4) years of hands-on experience installing, configuring, maintaining, and resolving issues with diverse software systems.
-Must possess IT-II Non-Critical Sensitive security clearance or Tier 3 (T3) security clearance at the time of proposal submission.
