Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Field Reliability Engineer to join our team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the performance and durability of our products by investigating design issues and gathering critical field data. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented problem solver who thrives in both office and field environments and is passionate about continuous improvement.
This person is ideally based in the Bay Area or in the Midwest. There is heavy travel expected for this role to customer sites. If located in the Bay Area, there is an expectation of 2 days/week in person (HQ in Oakland, CA) when not traveling to customer sites.
Responsibilities
- Field Investigations: Travel to operational sites to investigate design issues, conduct testing, and ensure product reliability.
- Data Instrumentation: Instrument operational sites to capture real-world field data essential for product evaluation.
- Instrumentation Development: Source or design custom instrumentation solutions to effectively monitor and collect field data.
- Documentation: Prepare detailed reports documenting site visits, including findings and actionable recommendations.
- Knowledge Sharing: Disseminate field data and insights to quality and testing teams to drive product improvements.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Willingness to travel 50% of the time to various operational sites across the US.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
- Experience with instrumentation and data collection methods.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and technical writing skills.
