As part of our ongoing commitment to sustainable development, we are executing a Centralized Sewerage System Project aimed at improving urban sanitation and environmental standards.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Electrical Engineer to join our project team for the Kigali Centralized Sewerage System Project. The role involves planning, designing, and overseeing the installation, testing, and maintenance of electrical systems and components related to wastewater treatment, pump stations, control systems, and associated infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop electrical systems for wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, and related infrastructure.
- Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and standards to ensure compliance with project requirements and local regulations.
- Supervise the installation of electrical equipment including control panels, power distribution systems, instrumentation, lighting, and SCADA systems.
- Conduct site inspections, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems.
- Coordinate with civil, mechanical, and instrumentation teams to ensure seamless integration across disciplines.
- Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and consultants to ensure timely delivery and compliance with quality standards.
- Prepare technical documentation including BOQs, material submittals, test reports, and operation manuals.
- Ensure all electrical works comply with health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving site-based electrical issues.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
- 10 years of relevant experience, with at least 8 years in wastewater/sewerage projects.
- Solid understanding of electrical systems design, power distribution, motor control, and automation in treatment plants.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, ETAP, and relevant electrical design software.
- Experience working on SCADA and PLC-based systems is a strong advantage.
- Familiarity with international standards (IEC, IEEE, NEC) and local electrical codes.
- Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and in multi-disciplinary environments.
- Professional Engineering License or Certification is a plus.
