The Clinical Informatics Analyst will collaborate with diverse stakeholder groups in the procurement, development, implementation, customization, management, evaluation, and continuous improvement of clinical information systems. They will gather information throughout the clinical knowledge life cycle, from the point of knowledge generation through cataloging, embedding knowledge into the workflows, and measuring the usage and effectiveness of that knowledge. They will help develop solutions to improve clinical workflow and decision-making and apply user experiences, research, and informatics principles to enhance clinical practice and usability of clinical information systems.
Job Requirements
Knowledge of/Skill/Ability to:
Comprehensive understanding of clinical principles to evaluate system needs. Understanding of healthcare informatics principles, clinical decision support systems, electronic health records (EHR), and health information exchange (HIE) standards. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, work independently, and adapt to evolving priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Proficient in operating, troubleshooting, and optimizing various software and hardware systems. Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with a diverse population. Experience in project management that leads to positive change management preferred.
License/Certification
Current licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh) by the Oregon State Board of Pharmacy (Required).
Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association required.
Certification in Pharmacy Informatics from the American Society of Health Systems Pharmacists (Preferred).
Education and/or Experience
• Doctor of Pharmacy Degree and 3-5 Years Hospital Pharmacy Experience or Completion of hospital pharmacy residency preferred.
• Previous experience involving the implementation and use of clinical information systems is preferred.
• Advanced education in the field of medical informatics is preferred.
• Experience with Oracle Cerner EHR preferred.
Physical Demands and Work Environment Conditions / ADA Compliance
Position involves standing, walking, stooping, and occasional carrying and lifting of lightweight materials (up to 20 pounds). May be required to sit for extended periods of time. Requires visual acuity and depth perception to recognize words and numbers; and hand and finger dexterity and hand/eye coordination to use a computer keyboard and common office equipment.
