The Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital (NVRH) Surgical Group seeks a dedicated Medical Secretary Coordinator to serve as the administrative backbone of our medical office. In this key role, you'll oversee and mentor our secretarial support staff, ensuring a seamless flow of information throughout our Surgical Office while maintaining the highest standards of quality and patient satisfaction. Working closely with the Practice Operations Director, you'll coordinate team schedules, evaluate performance, and foster professional development within your team. As the primary liaison for secretarial support staff, you'll identify opportunities for operational improvements and innovation while providing essential administrative support that keeps our practice running smoothly. This position offers the ideal blend of leadership responsibilities and hands-on patient care in a collaborative healthcare setting.
Duties and responsibilities will include:
- Team Leadership - Supervise secretarial staff, assist with evaluations and hiring, manage schedules, standardize procedures, and oversee office operations and supply ordering.
- Patient Service - Greet patients, verify information and insurance, manage EMR updates, coordinate portal enrollment, and handle calls in accordance with confidentiality policies.
- Clinical Scheduling - Schedule patient exams and imaging, process prior authorizations, coordinate with physician offices, and track referrals and results.
- Quality & Compliance - Maintain departmental policies, participate in quality improvement initiatives, attend required meetings and training sessions, and ensure regulatory compliance.
