What are the duties and responsibilities?
- Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions in math for students of varying ages and skill levels.
- Assist students in understanding math concepts across subjects such as arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and pre-calculus.
- Develop individualized learning plans based on student needs, progress, and curriculum requirements.
- Use a variety of instructional techniques to explain concepts clearly and effectively.
- Track and assess student progress, providing feedback and adjusting instructional strategies as needed.
- Support students with homework, test preparation, and class assignments.
- Encourage critical thinking and problem-solving skills in mathematical contexts.
- Maintain accurate session records and communicate regularly with parents, teachers, or program staff.
- Create a positive, supportive, and respectful learning environment.
- Stay current with educational best practices and relevant curriculum standards.
What do you bring?
- A Certified Math Teacher
- Willingness to go through (and pass!) the required clearances and training to ensure the safety and security of our children, including: four clearances, mandated reporter training, a physical, and TB test. This can typically be accomplished within a week to get you started.
- Capacity for sitting, standing, walking, bending and stopping for long periods of time, as these happen throughout the eight-hour day.
