📍 Location: Charleston, SC (Hybrid – Work from home & North Charleston Warehouse | Full-Time
Key Responsibilities
Accounting Operations:
- Manage daily accounting tasks in our ERP system - accurately recording bank transactions and posting manual journal entries as needed.
- Maintain accurate, organized, and audit-ready financial records with zero tolerance for errors.
- Manage all aspects of A/R, and cross-train in A/P processes to provide coverage when needed
- Support day-to-day financial operations with consistency and control.
Month-End & Year-End Close:
- Support the month-end close process: reconcile key accounts, research discrepancies, prepare and post journal entries, and prepare financial statements.
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for all operating and deposit accounts
- Collaborate with the Controller to deliver timely and accurate monthly and annual financial reports.
Financial Reporting & Analysis:
- Prepare and deliver clear, concise, and insightful financial reports to support strategic decision-making.
- Run variance analyses, investigate discrepancies, and help connect the dots between data and action.
- Support budget vs. actual tracking and contribute to continuous financial visibility.
Process & Compliance:
- Ensure all work complies with GAAP and company policy.
- Help document and maintain strong internal controls and SOPs to drive consistency and reduce risk.
- Identify and recommend opportunities for automation or workflow improvements
Forecasting Support
- Update daily cash flow forecast with actual cash activity and upcoming known inflows/outflows
- Coordinate with team to ensure timely input for expected cash movements
- Monitor bank balances and flag any irregularities or timing issues
- Support financial forecasting with data entry as needed
Accounts Receivable (A/R)
- Monitor accounts receivable aging for our B2B accounts and follow up on overdue balances.
- Record invoice payments and customer deposits
- Monitor revenue accounts to ensure sales are recorded accurately
- Maintain accurate customer data and documentation (e.g. Retail Certificates)
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Experience working within an ERP system a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data organization).
- Solid understanding of accounting principles (GAAP).
- Highly organized, with excellent attention to detail and follow-through.
- Prior experience in manufacturing, eCommerce, or consumer goods preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to take initiative.
- Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
