About the role
Remote in LA OR San Diego
Salary - $85,000 – $110,000
The Accounting Manager will manage the full scope of accounting operations as a department of one. This individual will take ownership of all financial processes, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance, and alignment with company objectives. The role is both strategic and hands-on, requiring the ability to perform daily accounting tasks while providing financial insights to leadership.
The Accounting Manager will receive support from local Office Managers for tasks such as accounting data entry and related administrative activities. At times, the Accounting Manager will also be directly responsible for data entry to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
What you'll do
- Manage all day-to-day accounting operations, including:
- o General ledger maintenance
- o Accounts payable and receivable
- o Bank, credit card, and account reconciliations
- o Payroll processing and journal entries
- o Fixed asset tracking and depreciation
- · Lead and execute month-end and year-end close activities
- · Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- · Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures
- · Coordinate with external tax preparers, auditors, and consultants
- · Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local reporting and tax requirements
- · Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
- · Provide financial analysis and recommendations to the executive team
- · Identify opportunities to improve accounting systems, tools, and processes
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA a plu
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a hands-on environment
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls
- Proficiency in Sage accounting software
- Advanced Excel and data analysis skills
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills for working with leadership, partners, and external stakeholders
