The function of a Reference Testing Specialist II is to facilitate the send out of patient specimens to reference laboratories, communicate with care providers regarding patient testing, to maintain appropriate documentation for reference laboratory testing, and to serve as an expert resource for information related to reference testing.

Experience

Minimum of 5 years experience in reference testing.

Licensures, Certifications, and/or Registries

Must obtain Alabama Department of Public Health certification for Packaging and Shipping of Infectious Substances upon course availability and/or within one year of employment.
