Job Summary
The General Manager will oversee the operations of a company that provides advanced technology solutions tailored to the construction market across the Carolinas, Virginia, Georgia, and the DC area. BuildingPoint SouthEast’s portfolio features cutting-edge tools for field layout, 3D scanning, robotic layout systems, and contractor-focused software solutions. The ideal candidate will be a growth-driven professional with a proven track record in leadership, strong understanding of sales, and a solid knowledge of the construction industry.
Job Duties
- Set sales goals and provide direction for the Sales Manager to achieve those goals.
- Hire, train, and manage future team members to achieve the company's growth goals.
- Oversee the day-to-day operational needs of the company through the Operations Director.
- Supervise Service and Support functions through the Support Manager.
- Collaborate with the Marketing team to utilize marketing resources for the company.
- Manage expenses and inventory levels effectively.
- Oversee the P&L to ensure acceptable levels of profitability.
- Develop and maintain long-term relationships with customers.
- Manage and cultivate the relationship with the primary Vendor Partner, Trimble.
- Set the strategic direction of the company in collaboration with ownership.
- Create an annual sales plan and budget.
- Establish infrastructure that supports a growing software and services business.
Requirements
- An optimistic, can-do attitude paired with a realistic approach
- Proven leadership abilities
- Advanced skills in sales management
- Comprehensive understanding of the construction industry
- Strong knowledge of financial statements and the ability to positively influence them
- Expertise in solution selling to targeted customer prospects and building construction workflows
- Experience in managing a business or business unit
Qualifications
- Five or more years of relevant experience in sales management or a leadership position.
- A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
