Summary
Develops, designs, installs and modifies the Lab Information System (LIS) database, instrument interfaces, and computer peripherals. Trains all lab users on system and upgrades. Liaison with Information Services.
Develops, implements and configures LIS applications and procedures. Writes Cerner rules for reflex testing and charging. Builds, configures and maintains laboratory tests in Cerner system. Prepares CDM requests for approval by Pathology and Finance. Configures/maintains instrument, middleware and foreign systems interfaces with Cerner LIS. Writes and designs database queries for Pathology management, Infection Control and Patient Care areas as needed. Communicate and interprets computer applications to Pathology staff and other hospital users. Provides educational support to Pathology staff on LIS applications, Cerner upgrades and middleware systems. Tracks LIS and middleware issues and presents recommendations to management. Acts as liaison between Pathology department, Information Services and instrument/middleware vendors.
Experience: Required: * 5-7 YEARS
Education: Required: Preferred: * Bachelor's Degree * Master's Degree BS - Medical Technology or Information Technology (IT/IS)
