Full-Time Substance Use Nurse Practitioner Opportunity

LifeBridge Health is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join our New Hope Treatment Substance Use Disorder program at Grace Medical Center. NP candidates required to have training and experience with substance use treatment.

The qualified Nurse Practitioner is responsible for patient intakes, assessment and dose management in collaboration with the Medical Director. Under this program, New Hope offers many types of treatment and services to patients who struggle with the disease of addiction. All services are certified by the State of Maryland and are CARF accredited. The treatment program is for adult patients (18+).
Primary medical care is also offered to all patients enrolled in our treatment program. Our care team helps manage acute and chronic illnesses like hypertension and diabetes, collaborates with local pharmacies to provide vaccinations and preventative care including women’s health services. In addition, patients are provided access to education and counseling for healthy living as well as referrals to specialists. Behavioral Health Home services are available to Medicaid patients enrolled in this treatment program.
The Opportunity
- Full-time outpatient, hospital-employed position.
- No On-Call responsibilities. No regular weekend or evening hours.
- Based onsite at the New Hope Treatment Center.
- Manages the Behavioral Health Home Program, in conjunction with the administrative staff.
- Assesses, diagnoses, prescribes and monitors Substance Use Disorder, (SUD) medications, educates, counsels and refers patients as needed.
Requirements
- Master’s degree and Advanced Practice Nurse, Nurse Practitioner license (APN, APRN, or NP). Certification with AANP or AANC.
- Maryland DEA & CDS license and current CPR license.
- 1 – 2 years’ NP experience in substance use treatment required.
- Excellent interpersonal and human relations skills
- Demonstrated computer/EMR proficiency. Excellent documentation and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with all members of the health care team, patients, and families
- Knowledge of regulatory and accrediting agency standards and requirements.
