Job Title: Sr. Producer
As a Sr. Producer at Blind Squirrel Games, you will perform as a production expert responsible for the successful operation and delivery of project work from internal and external teams.
This full-time role is based out of any of our campuses in Austin, TX, Irvine, CA, or potentially remote. For our local campuses this role would have an onsite requirement of 3 days weekly.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the development processes for your team operate effectively and efficiently.
- Act as a vital conduit of information across the team, studio, and external clients, making sure they are kept informed of project status and any issues or needs
- Work with the leads and stakeholders to ensure projects are adequately resourced and completed on time, within budget and to a high level of quality
- Work with project leads to create goals and schedules and track progress towards major milestones
- Support and help to improve our culture of transparency, constant improvement, and empowering support
- Identify any issues that affect the performance of your team and diligently removing any impediments to team success
- Manage and mentor more junior members of the production team so they reach their full potential and achieve their long-term career goals.
- Other relevant duties and responsibilities as assigned to help complete company or department objectives
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Bachelor"s degree or equivalent work experience
- 3+ years' experience in game production
- At least one shipped title as a producer
Preferred Skills
- Strong communication skills
- Superb organizational skills and ability to multi-task
- A team player with a proactive disposition and natural leadership qualities
- Knowledge of different game development methodologies and processes
- Understanding of common project management frameworks such as Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall
- Previous use of Jira, Confluence, Adobe Suite, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience developing and refining production pipelines
- Experience creating and managing project status reports (PNRs)
- Experience with sprint planning and reviews
- Experience budgeting, scheduling, documenting, and recruiting with respect to the production department
- Familiar with contemporary game engines and platforms
- A passion for video games, game development, and an understanding of each role"s involvement in the creation of a video game
- Pride in everything you produce and an aptitude for problem-solving
- Able to maintain a positive attitude in a highly collaborative and iterative team environment
Pluses
- Previous experience in the co-development of video games
- Previous experience working with independent contractors
- Previous experience leading creative teams
