Bed Placement Specialist

SCHEDULE: Sat/Sun; REMOTE (once completed successful orientation)
SUMMARY: Plan, coordinate, and manage patient bed assignments to ensure the patient is admitted to the most appropriate patient care unit in a timely manner from all points of entry (ED, PACU, direct admissions, transfers). Facilitate communication among patient care units, ancillary departments and collaborate with physicians and staff to promote efficient and appropriate bed placement. Function as a liaison with physician offices to take orders and facilitate direct admissions. During periods of low patient activity, assist in the collection of performance improvement data from the medical record.
Required experience: Minimum two (2) years clinical nursing experience
Required Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current Registered Nurse license with eligibility to work in the state of Missouri
Preferred Education/Training: BSN
Preferred Experience: Nursing supervisor/management experience; strong computer skills
Preferred Licensure/Certification/Registration: Medical/Surgical (RN,C); Critical Care (CCRN); Medical Surgical (CMSRN); BLS; ACLS
