Job Summary
Responsible for the daily staffing and administration of personnel and resources within the Central Monitoring unit.
Job Responsibilities
- Monitors departmental compliance with applicable requirements, including accreditation, legal, and The Joint Commission.
- Identifies and resolves issues affecting the delivery of patient care services in a unit.
- Assists in developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective delivery of health services in the unit.
- Monitors and adheres to annual hospital operating budget.
- Coordinates staff scheduling, educational and development activities and performance evaluations.
- Performs quality assurance studies and assists with implementation of quality assurance (QA) and quality improvement (QI) initiatives.
- Serves as a resource to staff and external contacts on issues related to patient care, patient flow, clinical standards, policies, and procedures.
- Assists in maintaining, educating, and monitoring central monitoring unit operations.
- Assists in hiring, training, directing, developing, and evaluating personnel within the unit.
- May be required to monitor and manage supply orders and inventory as needed.
- Manages patient care assignment.
- Provides health educational needs for patients/families.
- Performs staff level duties as needed and required in assigned area.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree or higher in Science required upon hire OR
- Associate's degree or higher in related field required upon hire
- A combination of education, training and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- A minimum of 2 years' relevant experience required
- BLS - Certified as a Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider required within 90 days of employment in this position AND
- CRAT- Certified Rhythm Analysis Technician from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) required within 24 months of employment in this position
