Innophos is seeking a hands-on IT Support Technician to provide critical on-site IT support at our chemical manufacturing plants in Nashville and Geismar (2-3 year visit). In this key role, you’ll ensure seamless plant operations by managing hardware, software, networks, and plant-specific applications in a 24/7 environment. You’ll be the primary on-site IT contact, working closely with our Managed Service Provider (MSP) and plant teams to minimize downtime and keep systems running efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot PCs, servers, and software.
- Manage user accounts and group policies via Active Directory.
- Support and manage networked devices (printers, barcode scanners, video conferencing).
- Maintain and troubleshoot local network infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls, cabling).
- Support plant-specific and non-standard applications critical to operations.
- Partner with MSP and plant teams on IT projects and deployments.
- Ensure IT operations comply with safety standards in a 24/7 manufacturing environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
- 3–5 years of hands-on IT support experience, preferably in industrial or manufacturing settings.
- Strong knowledge of PC hardware, Windows/macOS, Windows Server, and networking fundamentals.
- Proficient in Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and endpoint management.
- Basic understanding of cybersecurity, including firewalls and access controls.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in industrial plant environments with PPE.
- Willing to participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified, or Cisco CCNA.
- Experience with plant-specific or proprietary manufacturing applications.
- Familiarity with Industrial Control Systems (ICS) or SCADA systems.
- Understanding of industrial safety and compliance standards.
Working Conditions
- Environment: This role is based on-site at chemical manufacturing facilities and involves exposure to typical industrial conditions, including chemicals, noise, and varying temperatures.
- Physical Demands: Requires occasional lifting of equipment (up to 50 lbs), frequent movement throughout plant areas, and consistent use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Schedule: Full-time position with participation in an on-call rotation to provide IT support for 24/7 plant operations.
