Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Control Manager to lead and oversee quality control efforts on a construction project located in Winfield, MO. This role is critical to ensuring all work complies with regulatory standards, contractual obligations, and internal expectations for quality and safety.

A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related engineering field is required. Candidates without this minimum educational requirement will not be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive quality control plans and procedures tailored to construction projects.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with contract specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee the entire construction and fabrication process to maintain the highest quality standards.
- Analyze inspection data to detect trends, identify risks, and propose improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate closely with project management, engineering, and production teams to address and resolve quality issues.
- Maintain thorough documentation of inspections, audits, and corrective actions.
- Train construction teams on quality standards, procedures, and best practices.
- Promote a strong culture of quality and accountability across all project phases.
Responsibilities & Job Functions
1. Quality Control Program Management
- Develop and implement a comprehensive quality control plan specific to the construction project.
- Establish quality control procedures that align with project specifications, contract requirements, and regulatory standards.
- Ensure compliance with construction codes, safety standards, and client expectations.
2. Inspection & Audit Oversight
- Conduct regular site inspections to evaluate materials, workmanship, and adherence to specifications.
- Plan and lead audits of construction activities, documenting results and ensuring timely resolution of non-conformances.
- Monitor subcontractor and vendor performance to verify quality compliance.
3. Data Analysis & Reporting
- Collect and analyze quality-related data to identify trends, recurring issues, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Generate quality reports for internal use and client review, detailing inspections, findings, and corrective actions.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to quality.
4. Issue Resolution & Corrective Actions
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field teams to identify root causes of quality issues.
- Recommend and implement corrective and preventive actions to resolve non-compliance or defects.
- Follow up to ensure actions have been properly carried out and documented.
5. Compliance & Documentation
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, test results, audits, and quality control documentation.
- Ensure all construction activities and materials meet regulatory and contractual quality requirements.
- Train project staff and subcontractors on quality control standards and procedures.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and accountability on the job site.
- Serve as a leader and resource on quality assurance best practices for the entire project team.
7. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with engineering, safety, procurement, and field operations teams to align quality goals.
- Attend project meetings to communicate QC issues, progress, and changes.
- Represent the quality function in client interactions, inspections, and third-party audits.
8. Safety Integration
- Integrate quality control with site safety efforts, ensuring that inspections and processes support overall jobsite safety.
- Identify quality-related safety risks and participate in mitigation planning.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field – Required
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in quality control on construction projects – Required
- Demonstrated experience with inspections, quality audits, and process improvement initiatives
- Proficient in analyzing data and identifying actionable quality trends
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational, documentation, and leadership capabilities
Certifications & Additional Requirements
- OSHA 30 Certification – Required
- USACE Quality Control Certificate
- Must be able to commute to and work at Winfield, MO – Required
- Must be able to relocate prior to start date – Required
- Willingness to travel up to 25% – Preferred
