What You'll Be Doing:
Lead by Example:
Set up and operate press brake machines for forming and bending sheet metal, while guiding and training team members to uphold the highest production standards.
Own the Setup:
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders to program, adjust, and set up the press brake with precision.
Drive Quality:
Ensure all formed parts meet tight tolerances using measuring instruments like calipers, protractors, and gauges. You'll inspect both your work and your team's for accuracy and consistency.
Optimize Operations:
Troubleshoot machine issues, identify process improvements, and recommend solutions that boost efficiency and minimize downtime.
Coordinate Production:
Work closely with supervisors, engineers, and other departments to prioritize jobs, allocate resources, and meet tight deadlines without sacrificing quality.
Promote Safety & Standards:
Uphold strict safety protocols, encourage best practices, and maintain a clean, organized workspace. Lead daily safety briefings and ensure team compliance.
What We're Looking For:
- Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of press brake operation, sheet metal fabrication, and reading complex blueprints.
- Leadership Skills: Proven experience leading teams, training operators, and coordinating production schedules.
- Detail-Oriented: Commitment to quality and consistency, with a sharp eye for detail and measurements.
- Mechanical Aptitude: Ability to diagnose and solve equipment or tooling issues efficiently.
- Team-First Mentality: Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a passion for mentoring and developing others.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certifications in metal fabrication or CNC machinery are a plus.
- Experience: 3+ years operating press brakes (Amada, Trumpf, Cincinnati, or similar), with at least 1 year in a leadership or lead role preferred.
