Position Summary
Pediatric practice patient service representative proactively ensures an exceptional experience for patients when greeting, checking in, and checking out during their appointment; answers incoming phone calls, responds to general patient requests, takes telephone messages and schedules patient appointments. Verifies insurance information and ensures appointments are scheduled properly.
40 Hours per Week: Shifts will be during the following times: 7:45am-5:30pm (4 days a week), 10:00am-7:15pm (1 day a week), 1-2 Saturdays per month 7:45am-12:15pm.
This position may support Rush Pediatrics Aurora, Rush Pediatrics Aurora Ridge, & Rush Pediatrics & Family Medicine - Oswego. Bilingual Spanish is strongly preferred.
Position Requirements
- Education and Previous Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Some college preferred.
- Hardware/Software Experience
- Practice management/medical billing computer programs.
- Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Word and Excel)
- Other Characteristics
- Excellent oral/written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Detailed oriented
- Ability to set priorities, document conversations and specific actions taken and develop applicable policies and procedures (e.g., regarding collections)
- Flexible; able to adapt to change
- Bilingual (Spanish) abilities are highly valued.
