Job Summary:
As a MS/HS Spanish Teacher, you will play a crucial role in the academic development of high school students. Your responsibilities include designing and delivering engaging Spanish language lessons, fostering a love for the Spanish language and Hispanic culture, equipping students with language proficiency, and fostering the physical, emotional, intellectual, social, and spiritual growth of the student.

- Professes a strong Christian faith in Jesus Christ and demonstrates regular attendance at a Bible-believing church aligned with the CSAGH Statement of Faith.
- Agrees with and upholds the principles outlined in Articles II, III, and XII, section 1 of the Constitution of the Christian School Association of Greater Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
- Holds a bachelor’s degree in education as a minimum qualification.

- Demonstrates prior classroom experience as a teacher.

Key Responsibilities:
Curriculum Development:
- Develop and deliver comprehensive Spanish lesson plans and teaching materials that align with language curriculum standards.
- Customize instruction to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities within high school levels.
- Integrate cultural elements into language instruction to enhance students' understanding of Hispanic culture.
Classroom Management:
- Establish and maintain an inclusive and respectful classroom environment conducive to language learning.
- Implement effective behavior management strategies that promote positive classroom conduct.
- Create opportunities for students to engage in authentic language and cultural experiences.
Language Proficiency:
- Foster an environment that promotes language acquisition, fluency, and cultural competence.
- Encourage students to communicate in Spanish through discussions, presentations, and projects.
- Utilize technology and multimedia resources to enhance language instruction.
Assessment and Progress Monitoring:
- Regularly assess students' language proficiency and cultural understanding using various evaluation methods, including exams, projects, and class participation.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate results to parents and guardians.
- Collaborate with colleagues and school administrators to review and analyze student data.
Cultural Appreciation:
- Promote an appreciation for Hispanic culture, history, and customs within the Spanish language context.
- Organize cultural activities, events, and guest speakers to provide students with a well-rounded cultural experience.

Professional Development:

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in education, Spanish, or a related field.
- Appropriate state teaching certification or licensure.
- Proficiency in the Spanish language, with native or near-native fluency preferred.
- Previous experience in teaching high school students, with a focus on language education preferred.
