Job Summary
The Neurology Technician is responsible for delivering high quality patient care within the scope of the job description, as well as performing clerical functions as outlined. The Neurology Technician will assist with patient care under the supervision of the Department Manager. Areas of accountability will include, but not be entirely limited to, EEGs, clerical functions, quality assurance and performance improvement data collection. The Neurology Technician will be expected to perform duties as assigned in the EKG Technician job description and other duties as assigned. Patient populations will include adolescent, adult and geriatric.
Job Requirements
a. Minimum Education Requirement : Must possess reading, writing, and mathematical skills and the ability to understand written instruction and receive and transmit information; knowledge/skills normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
b. Minimum Experience Requirement : BCLS. Extensive training or experience in use of Electrophysiological instrumentation. Demonstrated ability to proficiently perform procedures and instruct patients. Demonstrated knowledge of calibration, adjustment, and troubleshooting and ability to use the Evoked Potential and EEG machine. Demonstrated ability to effectively and pleasantly communicate, both verbally and in writing, with patients, physicians, and co-workers.
c. Minimum License Requirement : CPR certification within probationary period
Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions
Heavy Work: Frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 lbs with a maximum lifting of 100 lbs.
