The Patient Care Manager is accountable and responsible for managing the clinical care for all of the Cardiac Cath Lab modalities-Outpatient pre/post care, procedural areas, EP, echo, scheduling, STEMI care. Coordination of care is accomplished through collaboration with physicians, associate staff, and other health care providers to ensure that patient outcomes are achieved within the projected course of treatment using the nursing process. The Patient Care Manager is accountable to the Director of the Cardiac Cath Lab and accepts other responsibilities as are delegated by the Director to assure optimum patient care. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Oversees/adjusts staffing in all clinical areas of responsibility to meet the needs of each area. Assists personally in providing care to patients as needed to meet patients’ needs and workload demands. Performs chart audits to ensure accuracy and completeness of documentation by staff and addresses any deficiencies. Serves as a liaison between staff and patients when there are concerns, delays or problems and ensures that staff is utilizing the We Care and Language of Caring philosophy in caring for all customers. Serves as team leader in dealing with emergent situations. Deals with personnel differences/conflicts in conjunction with other management personnel. Follows-up with new staff members and helps ensure competency of clinical skills, Ensures accountability of staff by managing all patient care and non-patient care functions. Serves as a resource for staff. Assists with clinical competency evaluation and performance evaluation annually. Ensures staff is aware of and following current policy/procedures. Accepts other responsibilities as are delegated by the Cath Lab Director to assure optimum patient care.

- Ensures staff accountability and holds staff accountable when necessary through disciplinary process.
- Knowledgeable of hospital nursing regulations and enforces them accordingly in department operations.
- Performs DNV inspections and audits when requested by the department director.

Qualifications:
Education/Skills
Graduate of a recognized non-online RN program required.
Work Experience:
Three or more years as a staff RN in a Cath Lab setting required, with six months being at Forrest General preferred. Critical care-ICU experience preferred. Previous supervision/management experience preferred.
Certification/Licensure-DUE UPON HIRE
