What you need to know about this position:
- The Sterile Processing team ensures that the team members across the hospital have the clean and sterile equipment necessary to provide patient care.
- The Sterile Processing Quality Coordinator is responsible for the direct oversight of the Sterile Processing department, specific quality and compliance requirements, including didactic and hands-on training in accordance with regulatory compliance and professional organizational standards.
- Develops highly specialized skill sets in Sterile Processing team members to help care for our unique high-acuity populations in surgery, endoscopy, and offsite locations.
- In collaboration with leadership, develops standard work for regulatory compliance and quality assurance.
- Maintains active communication among Sterile Processing staff and all departments Sterile Processing provides service for.
- This role represents the Surgical Service Line as a leader in clinical quality, including ad hoc participation in clinical quality, analyzing performance metrics, making recommendations for improvement and educating staff, physicians and ancillary departments to collaboratively meet the key quality performance metrics.
- The base hourly rate for this position is $22.28. Individual compensation is determined for this position through years of directly relevant experience. The hourly compensation is only a portion of the total rewards package, and a comprehensive benefits program is available for qualifying positions.
- This full-time position will require you to work 40 hours weekly, 8:00am-5:00pm, Monday through Friday, with a holiday rotation.
What is required for this position:
Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma or GED required
- Associate degree preferred
- Minimum 5 years as a certified sterile processing technician required, 5-10 years preferred
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations
- Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or Certified Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) required.
- Certified Instrument Specialist Certification (CIS) required
- Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER) required
- Certified Healthcare Leader (CHL) preferred
