Position Summary:
Reporting to the Clinic Manager, a RPN is a qualified individual assigned area as required by individualized clinic and patient needs and according to dependent and independent nursing functions while adhering to recognized nursing techniques, procedures, and established standards based on the scope of practical nursing, under the direction of a Physician or Registered Nurse.
What you will be doing:
- Reporting directly to the Clinic Manager, the RPN responsibilities generally include, but are not limited to the following:
- Co-ordinate patient care throughout the clinic & exam rooms
- Triaging patient needs to assess health needs & urgency
- Discuss test results and answer questions accordingly
- Prepare exam rooms, select, set-up and maintain medical supplies & equipment for examinations & procedures
- Clean & sterilize exam rooms, materials & instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies or equipment
- Taking & documenting vital signs (i.e. Blood pressure, heart rate, measurements)
- Venipuncture
- Administer immunizations & vaccines, teaching as required
- Assist patients to complete medical history, intake forms or other documents & forms
- Perform wound care & management
- Check inventory and assist with ordering of medical supplies & materials
- EMR documentation / medical record maintenance
- Assisting with call backs, referrals & various follow up tasks
- Assisting clinic manager, nursing & reception staff as required
You Have:
- Current certificate of Registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario (RPN)
- Excellent patient assessment and triaging skills
- Knowledge of Immunization guidelines in Ontario
- Knowledge of and working experience with EMR systems and applications, preference to Accuro users
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as a member of multi-disciplinary team
- Primary Care Experience
The salary offered for this position falls within a specified salary range and will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to the candidate's experience, qualifications, skills, and the specific needs of the organization.
