Starting at $20 - $26 per hour based on experience
In-office position located in your choice of either York, Hanover, or Camp Hill
Requirements:
- High School Education or previous experience in dispatching preferred
- Proficient in computer technology including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Exemplifies and communicates the values of initiative, responsibility, caring relationships, integrity, and innovation
- Proven skills in organizing resources and maintaining records
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
- Able and willing to work extended hours and weekends as necessary
Responsibility + Expectations
Operational Excellence
- Follow established routing processes to ensure that timely deliveries are being made
- Manage Required Customer Interactions in a Timely manner
- Maintain K-Factors, Baseloads, Monitors and Schedules in order to optimize delivery
- Document and communicate all service-related issues
- Develop caring relationships with our customers
- Actively participate in continuous improvement activities
- Communicate with drivers, customers and other departments to resolve issues in a courteous and professional manner
- Complete any projects and other duties as assigned by Manager of Logistics
- Maintain all Logistics inboxes/databases and respond in a timely manner
- Promote a safe workplace and take immediate action on unsafe conditions
Continual Improvement
- Work with Logistics Manager to set KPI's with a focus on year over year improvement
- Work with Logistics Manager to Create “SMART” Goals that can be communicated throughout their departments and understood by all
- Collaborate with team members to create Logistics best practices
Internal Meetings and Committee Memberships
- Weekly EOS Meetings with Logistics team members
- Weekly one on one meeting with Logistics Manager to focus on personal & professional development
- Special event attendance
Authority:
- Schedule and Dispatch any delivery according to customer needs
- Set sequence of loading and delivery tickets to maximize efficiency
- May not bind, approve, or execute contracts or agreements that commit Shipley to pay another party for purchases or services on behalf of the business
Relationships:
- Reports to the Manager of Logistics
- Internal contacts: managers and team members at all locations
- External contacts: customers, suppliers, common carriers, and professional and community organizations
