A Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) or (ARRT(N)) is responsible for performing diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures, ensuring high-quality imaging while maintaining patient safety and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Graduate of a recognized, approved American Medical Association Council of Education program in nuclear medicine or has the necessary Nuclear Medicine certification required.
- Certification by the ARRT (N) or NMTCB required.
- Proficiency in operating nuclear medicine equipment and related software systems.
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and cross-sectional imaging techniques for attenuation correction.
- Familiarity of administering radiopharmaceuticals safely.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages and backgrounds.
- Empathy and patience when dealing with anxious or uncooperative patients.
- Ability to assess images for quality and troubleshoot issues during scans.
- Quick decision-making in emergency situations.
- Precision in positioning patients and setting up equipment.
- Accurate documentation of procedures in patient records.
