To provide support to the practice in the functional areas of clerical, clinical, and business under the direct supervision of a Medical Assistant, Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant or Physician. This role is designed for someone that has related clinical skills that allows them to provide a limited amount of clinical duties.
Requirements:
- High School or GED
- Must have some direct experience in the medical field such as a paramedic, EMT, or LNA
Responsibilities:
Perform clinical duties such as pre‑visit planning, obtaining vital signs, and assisting provider with examinations.
Perform inbox management and respond to patient calls within defined limits and scope (i.e. relaying results to patients would be limited to "normal" results only or patient calls would be limited to informational information).
Clean and prepare instruments for sterilization as required. Ensure exam rooms are cleaned and stocked.
Assist with managing clinic flow, getting patients from waiting room and bringing them to an exam room, bring patients to x-ray, directing patients to check out, etc.
May schedule pre‑admission and diagnostic testing and place follow-up calls to patients after surgery.
Maintain and adhere to established policies and procedures and federal regulations including patient confidentiality, quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control standards; responsible for participating in the daily huddle and completing any actions required and working as a member of the care team to ensure good communication between all team members and external departments.
May perform administrative tasks such as organizing patient charts, filing, pulling and copying patient records, etc.
May travel to various practices to work based on greatest need and priority.
Perform other duties as assigned.
