Field AI is hiring a Senior Manager or Director of Financial Planning & Analysis to build and lead our financial planning function during a period of rapid growth. Reporting directly to the CFO, this is a hands-on role that will own forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis, while building scalable processes to support a high-performing finance team. You will partner closely with leadership across business and technology teams to deliver insight, drive performance, and help shape strategic decisions.
We're looking for someone who has built finance processes from scratch in high-growth environments, thrives in a fast-paced setting, and brings a high bar for financial modeling, analytical thinking, and cross-functional collaboration.
What You'll Get To Do
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead annual and rolling budgeting processes; partner with department leads to build accurate and actionable forecasts.
- Financial Modeling & Analysis: Build and maintain robust financial models, including unit economics, scenario planning, and long-range forecasts.
- KPI & Financial Analytics: Analyze business performance, unit economics, and cost structures to identify key trends and opportunities.
- Management and Board reporting: Prepare high-quality reporting packages and materials for executive team, board meetings, and investor updates.
- Business Partnering: Work closely with functional leaders (Sales, Product, Engineering) to align financial goals with strategy.
- Systems & Tools: Work hands-on with tools like QuickBooks and Brex to ensure accurate data flow and process efficiency.
What You Have
- 8–10+ years of experience in FP&A
- Strong financial modeling skills — Excel fluency is a must
- Proven track record building FP&A processes in a startup or fast-growth company
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills; able to synthesize complex data for a range of stakeholders
- Experience working cross-functionally with business, product, or technical teams
What Will Set You Apart
- Experience building FP&A functions in a high-growth startup or tech environment
- Strong understanding and prior experience of SaaS or hardware/software business models
- Comfort working in a dynamic, fast-paced, and collaborative environment
- MBA or advanced degree in Finance, Business, or Economics
- Ability to be on site 2-3 days per week in the Mission Viejo office
Compensation
The salary range for this role is competitive. The actual offer for this position will be based on factors such as relevant experience, competencies, certifications, and how well the candidate meets the qualifications outlined above. Part of our compensation package also includes full benefits, equity, and generous time.
