Functioning within the Health System’s mission, values, objectives, policies and procedures, under the direction and supervision of the Technologist, the CT Intern performs specific tasks supporting the delivery of patient care. Assists with receiving patients in the exam room, proper positioning of patients for exams, discussing exams and preps with patients. Transports patients to and from the Radiology Department and is responsible for the care and safety of patients during transport Assists in the documentation and archiving of imaging data and patient records. Assists technical staff as needed with stocking supplies, sterile tray prep lab verification. This position is designed for currently enrolled Imaging Students. Associates will transition out of the position upon graduation with the confidence to become a Registered CT Technologist within the organization.
Education: Must be currently enrolled in a Medical Imaging Program
Licensure/Certification: BLS required.
Experience: Previous patient care experience preferred. Completion of at least one year of an Imaging Technology program preferred.
Skills: Good communication skills. Exhibits patience and tact in dealing with ill patients. Works with speed and proficiency while under stress. Must be cooperative with other associates and departments as needed. Shows flexibility with work schedule changes. Has a courteous and respectful demeanor with associates, physicians and patients.
