What is the opportunity?
The Radiologic Technologist will report to the Corporate Director of Radiology with dotted line to Medical Director and the Center Director. They will assume responsibility for a wide scope of care, including performing diagnostic imaging procedures at a technical level. They will have the ability to cross train in CT, DEXA and MRI. They will be responsible for delivering the 21st century experience members expect from our revolutionary practice. What will you do?
Under the clinical direction of a physician, perform diagnostic imaging procedures at a technical level while not requiring constant supervision. Performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgement, with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for Cat Scan imaging and DEXA studies, as well as MRI procedures. Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required. The services should be provided with attention to detail and friendly guest services.
Responsibilities include:
- Address all members, staff, and visitors in a friendly, courteous and professional manner
- Provides personal protective equipment in accordance with safely standards and policies/procedures/protocols set in place by Fountain Life and CDC guidelines
- Assists with quality control duties and assignments as required.
- Operates Cat Scan, DEXA and diagnostic Xray equipmentin accordance with established organizational policy
- Prepares and positions patients for CT scanning, DEXA and radiographic procedures; ensures patient modesty, confidentiality, and privacy
- Prepares IV solution sets and contrast agents for administration as ordered.
- Perform complex tasks associated with the operation of high field strength magnets and related equipment to produce special radiographic images of specific body parts
- Position patients for MR scans using immobilization and protective equipment to comply with government regulations and to ensure the safety of patients and staff
- Screen patients for MR safety prior to procedure performance
- Evaluate MR scans for technical quality, collate processed images and sequence of exposure and label appropriately
- Explains proper preparation to patients prior to procedure. Obtain patient signature and technologist initials on history form.
- Contributes to and maintains good working rapport with all members, personnel, and providers to ensure that the organization's objectives can effectively meet the needs of members and providers.
- Assures that patient rights to fair and equitable treatment, self-determination, individuality, privacy, and civil rights are maintained.
- Contributes to an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and positive emphasis throughout the organization.
- Reports all unsafe, hazardous conditions, defective equipment, etc. to supervisor immediately.
- Assures that work and/or assignment areas are maintained in a neat, safe, clean, and orderly fashion.
- Assists with training new employees as needed.
- Handle stressful and emergency situations with a calm rational demeanor.
- Demonstrate the ability to set priorities and maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Maintains and compiles records and reports as necessary.
What do you need to succeed?
To ensure success, the Radiologic Technologist should be detail-oriented with the ability to deliver care in a compassionate manner, thus always ensuring absolute comfort of members. They will collaborate effectively with other members of the medical team on the status of members and the delivery of high-quality care.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program or equivalent hospital-based program
- Possess a current ARRT certification and State of Florida license with IV injection permission
- ARRT Certification eligible in MRI, Cat Scan and/or Bone Densitometry (Experience in Cardiac CTA helpful)
- BLS certification
