Medical Staff Peer Review/Risk Manager 40 hours/week 8am-4:30pm

Job Summary

Reporting directly to the Vice President of Quality and Patient Safety, the Manager, Medical Staff Peer Review/Risk Management performs a wide variety of functions designed to coordinate and maintain the integrity of the Patient Safety, Risk Management and Medical Staff peer review programs. All duties will be performed in a manner that promotes teamwork and reflects the mission and vision of the hospital and the department.

Minimum Qualifications

Education
- Degree in a health care related field required
- Evidence of continuing education, specialization in Risk Management or Master’s Degree preferred
Experience
- Clinical or healthcare organization experience preferred.
- Experience with implementation of improvement methodologies and data management preferred.
Licensure and/or Certification
- Certification in risk management or patient safety preferred
- Membership in ASHRM preferred
Skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English required
- Detail Oriented
- Ability to manage data and generate reports
- Knowledge of statistical processes and measurement techniques
- Ability to work independently and facilitate teams
- Organizational skills
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English.
- Experienced Computer skills required including Microsoft Office Suite and specifically Excel competency.
- Knowledge of performance improvement, root cause analysis and failure mode effects analysis methodologies
- Ability to maintain confidential information and conduct sensitive inquires with discretion.
