Summary:
The primary purpose of the Stock Technician is to perform handling and distribution functions to departments or floors. Distributes Medical Gases, Bottled 5-gallon water, equipment and supplies. Completes forms, maintains records, documents, and assists in loading and unloading vehicles. Perform a variety of duties relative to the assigned area of responsibility. The position requires the ability to communicate and work closely and efficiently with others in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:
- Perform a variety of stockroom functions including receiving goods and processing shipments for delivery.
- Inspect shipments of materials, equipment and supplies received to assure compliance with purchase order specifications; identify and immediately report shortages, damaged goods, or other discrepancies.
- Distribute incoming shipments according to established procedures; prepare and mark non-stock purchase order items for delivery by route.
- Maintain the stockroom in a safe, clean, and orderly condition; participate in cleaning rotation.
- Receive telephone calls and provide information related to stockroom activities as required.
- Make deliveries as required, Load and unload trucks.
- Operate a variety of machines and equipment such as manual and electric pallet jacks, hand trucks, hand carts and freight elevator.
- Operate a personal computer, Handheld device, and peripheral equipment, using modern software; operate a variety of other machines and equipment.
- Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Work closely with management to learn and to develop the best practices and procedures and find ways to increase productivity.

Education and/or Experience:
Mathematical Skills:
- Ability to perform basic math skills.
Reasoning Ability:
- An ability to prioritize and solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations on a day-to-day basis where limited standardization may exist.
- Ability to interpret and follow a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral and diagram or schedule form.
Other Skills and Abilities:
- Perform materials receipt and distribution activities.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to handle, finger or feel objects or tools. Occasionally the employee must reach, bend, kneel, climb, or crouch.
- Exert up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, up to 25 lbs. frequently, and 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects while using correct body mechanics.
