SUMMARY: The Food Safety and Quality Assurance Supervisor is responsible for the daily management of activities and overall functions of the Food Safety and Quality Assurance (FSQA) department. This position ensures the administration of the food safety and quality assurance operational processes adhere to the relevant policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Coordinate, implement, and monitor all food safety and quality assurance programs and activities.
- Monitor and ensure a high standard of food processing sanitation at the pre-operational and operational practices of production.
- Audit food safety and quality assurance activities and provide results to leadership.
- Monitor microbiological results and conduct environmental swabs.
RESPONSIBILITIES
This position will have supervisory responsibility.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Required
- 7+ years of experience in food processing, food safety or quality assurance in progressively responsible positions OR Bachelor's Degree in Food Science or related field with 3 years of related experience
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – written and verbal
- Proficient computer skills, especially in Microsoft applications (Excel, Power Point, Outlook etc.)
- Preferred
- Experience with Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS), Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) regulations
- Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) Certification
- ServSafe Basic Certification
- Poultry experience
