SECTION I:
Basic Function:
The Anesthesia Technician supports anesthesia providers by preparing, maintaining, and managing equipment and supplies for anesthesia during surgical or invasive procedures, ensuring cost-effective resource use and quality improvement.
SECTION II:
Education & Experience:
- Minimum: High school diploma or GED.
- Preferred: Experience in a surgical environment, knowledge of medical and surgical terminology, and basic pharmacology.

SECTION IV:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION:
- Assist anesthesia providers under supervision of licensed staff.
- Maintain principles of aseptic technique and sterile fields.
- Prepare, clean, and troubleshoot anesthesia equipment.
- Manage and inventory anesthesia supplies and specialty carts.
- Support specialized procedures (e.g., bronchoscopy, TEE, difficult airway).
- Assist in obtaining and delivering lab samples like blood gases.
- Comply with safety protocols for handling sharps, spills, and exposure.
- Maintain readiness for cardiothoracic emergencies.
Schedule Requirements:
Call coverage is required every 3rd day and every 3rd weekend.
Compliance: Follow hospital policies on education, health assessments, and safety standards.

Salary Range: $18.33-26.58 /hour Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
