Job Summary: Responsible for the following duties regarding the Environment of Care for the organization: Assists in maintaining regulatory oversight and compliance monitoring for all programs under the Environment of Care. Develops, schedules, and conducts training. Evaluates and provides timely feedback to customers on all hazardous materials inspections and training, spill education and drills, fire education and drills, EOC inspections, new employee orientation and other EOC-related education. Schedule and conduct Environment of Care safety rounds and inspections throughout the organization. Research safety, emergency management and compliance issues as requested/required. Assists in ongoing compliance with EM standards, conducts Emergency Management (EM) Joint Commission evaluations, EM training, EM equipment inventory and maintenance and EM inspections throughout the organization. Assists in the development of, and conducts emergency management exercises and drills. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Associates Degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred. Three to five years of experience in healthcare, emergency response, emergency management, fire or EMS operations, a safety-related field or relevant experience required. An understanding of TJC Standards and Elements of Performance, CMS Conditions of Participation, NFPA Emergency Management and Fire Standards, as well as an understanding of OSHA regulations. Ability to read, understand, interpret, and apply new concepts and explain information about The Joint Commission Elements of Performance, Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services Conditions of Participation, OSHA standards, safety regulations, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Possess presentation skills and the ability to foster collaborative relationships with diverse groups, colleagues, and customers. Ability to carry out basic statistical analysis, interpret, and present data with clarity. The ability to write various reports and correspondence for internal and external customers is required. The ability to apply common-sense in executing instructions, whether in written, oral, or diagram form, and the ability to handle sensitive issues involving multiple situations are required.
