JOB SUMMARY
As a Rad Extern at Grafton City Hospital, you will ensure that quality care is given to patients and external customers by assisting in front-end Imaging Services. You will assist the Diagnostic Radiologic Technologists to providing care for patients.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- Associate’s degree or higher in process
- High School Diploma or GED (Required)
Licensure/Certification: CPR certification required.
Experience:
- Ability to accept directions.
- Demonstrate knowledge of general radiology theory and practice.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
Essential Functions
Rotates in all diagnostic areas for the development of technical skills (Fluoro, Portables, OR, Routine procedures). Maintain knowledge of and observe Imaging Department Policies and Procedures. Participates in coordination of daily workflow by interacting with technologists, nursing staff, and physicians in the facility. Sets up and prepares exam rooms for general and fluoroscopic equipment under the supervision of technologists. Perform various indirect duties under the direct supervision of a registered Technologist. Apply principles of radiation protection to minimize exposure to self and patients. Always remain patient and customer-focused, utilizing age-appropriate techniques to provide an extraordinary patient experience, compassionate care, and clinical excellence one patient at a time.
Performs Other Duties as Assigned:
Attends mandatory in-service, staff meetings, and actively participates in self-education. Complete all required competency assessments on time.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Light Work: Requires prolonged standing, sitting, walking, and typing on a computer terminal. Frequent bending, stooping, and stretching. Manual dexterity required. Lift to 50lbs. Remain professional in stressful situations.
