This is a full-time position based in Manizales, Colombia, with a fulltime onsite requirement at the studio's campus.

Engineering Generalist's at BSG:

You've familiarized yourself with the ins-and-outs of game development through professional and/or independent work and are confident in your understanding of the engineering pipeline. You have a solid programming skillset but are ready to challenge yourself by starting to take on more responsibilities and larger projects within your specialization.

You may have worn a couple of different hats during your early years in the industry, but you've narrowed down your focus and are fixed on harnessing what you've learned and what you will learn to launch your career as an Engineering Generalist. You are collaborative, open-minded, and enjoy being a part of a team. You can take direction and feedback, are not afraid to ask questions, and understand the value of autonomous work.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar field or equivalent professional experience

Fluent in C++

Experience with web standards and technology stacks, including JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS

Expertise with open-source web browser projects such as Chromecast, WebKit, Cobalt, etc.

Good debugging and profiling skills

Experience with memory management on small embedded systems

2+ year professional experience as a programmer

Create high-performance, robust, maintainable code in a cross-platform environment

Evaluate existing technology architectures

Extend existing systems to meet long-term needs of ongoing development

Work with external development partners

Adhere to team coding standards and practice

Required to work independently and report to a manager

Other relevant duties and responsibilities as assigned to help complete company or department objectives

Preferred Skills

Familiar with C, C#, HTML, Java, or HLSL/GLSL

Experience porting web engines to embedded connected devices such as smart TVs, smart appliances, and consumer media devices

Programming experience with runtime on embedded systems using C/C++ in resource-constrained environments (limited memory, CPU, GPU)

Solid understanding of multi-threaded programming

Effective communicator in a team-oriented environment

Experience with the current PC development process

PLUSES

Familiar with contemporary engines (Unreal, Unity, Godot, Source, etc.)

Familiar with contemporary platforms (Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, Steam Deck, etc.)

Mobile or native Android development experience

A passion for video games and game development

Previous experience with rendering, graphics, or optimization
