Position Overview
The Director of Operations is responsible for leading and modernizing all operational functions of pewag Inc. USA, with a primary focus on implementing technology, optimizing supply chain performance, and driving scalable growth.
This role serves as the operational architect of the organization, ensuring that systems, processes, and people are aligned to support efficient execution and long-term growth. The Director of Operations will oversee warehouse operations, inventory management, logistics, and operational systems while driving the adoption and integration of ERP, CRM, and data-driven tools.
The ideal candidate combines strong operational leadership with deep systems expertise, capable of transforming manual processes into scalable, automated, and data-driven workflows.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership
- Lead all day-to-day operations including warehouse, inventory control, logistics, and order fulfillment.
- Establish and enforce standardized operating procedures to ensure consistency, scalability, and operational excellence.
- Develop and monitor KPIs related to service levels, inventory performance, order accuracy, and operational efficiency.
- Align operational strategy with company growth objectives and market demands.
Technology & Systems Enablement
- Lead the implementation, optimization, and ongoing management of core business systems, including ERP (Prophet 21), CRM (Salesforce), and related platforms.
- Drive system integration initiatives to ensure seamless data flow across sales, operations, finance, and customer experience.
- Identify and implement automation opportunities to reduce manual processes and improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Establish governance around data integrity, reporting standards, and system adoption across the organization.
- Act as the primary operational owner for all technology initiatives, including system upgrades, vendor selection, and implementation projects.
Supply Chain & Inventory Management
- Own end-to-end supply chain performance, including demand planning, procurement coordination, inventory optimization, and vendor management.
- Develop and implement inventory strategies that balance service levels with working capital efficiency, with direct ownership of Inventory Days on Hand (DOH).
- Establish, track, and continuously improve Inventory DOH targets by product segment, ensuring alignment with financial and operational objectives.
- Drive improvements in inventory turns while maintaining high service levels and product availability.
- Reduce excess, obsolete, and slow-moving inventory through disciplined planning and system-driven insights.
- Collaborate with global manufacturing partners and suppliers to improve lead times, reliability, and forecasting accuracy.
- Leverage ERP and CRM data to build robust forecasting models supporting purchasing and stocking decisions.
- Optimize inbound and outbound logistics, including freight strategy, warehouse layout, and distribution flow.
Process Improvement & Scalability
- Identify operational inefficiencies and lead continuous improvement initiatives across all functions.
- Implement lean principles and best practices to streamline workflows and eliminate waste.
- Standardize cross-functional processes between Sales, Operations, and Finance.
- Build scalable processes to support new product introductions, channel expansion, and overall company growth.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Serve as the primary liaison between Operations and Sales to ensure alignment on demand planning, customer expectations, and order execution.
- Partner with Finance on cost management, inventory valuation, and margin improvement.
- Collaborate with IT and external partners on system architecture, cybersecurity, and infrastructure initiatives.
- Support product launches with operational readiness, including inventory planning, system setup, and fulfillment coordination.
Team Leadership & Development
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing operations organization across warehouse, inventory, and systems functions.
- Establish clear accountability, roles, and performance expectations aligned with company objectives.
- Drive a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and data-driven decision-making.
- Support hiring, training, and professional development within the operations team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Operations, Supply Chain, Business, or related field required.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in operations or supply chain leadership roles.
- Strong experience with ERP systems (Prophet 21 preferred) and CRM platforms (Salesforce preferred).
- Demonstrated success in implementing systems, process improvements, and operational transformation initiatives.
- Deep understanding of inventory management, distribution, and supply chain optimization.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and leadership.
Success Metrics (First 12–18 Months)
- Measurable improvement in Inventory Days on Hand, aligned to defined targets by product segment.
- Improved inventory turns while maintaining or improving customer service levels.
- Increased forecast accuracy and alignment between Sales and Operations.
- Reduction in excess, obsolete, and slow-moving inventory.
- Improvement in order accuracy, fill rate, and on-time delivery performance.
- Successful adoption and optimization of ERP and CRM systems across operations.
- Reduction of manual processes through automation and system integration.
- Establishment of scalable operational processes to support continued growth.
