Position Description:
We are seeking a motivated Data Analyst to join our Reference Data team and become immersed in the dynamic world of exchange traded derivatives. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain deep expertise in global derivatives markets while building critical technical skills in data quality, architecture, and automation. You'll work at the intersection of exchanges, data providers, and end users, learning how reference data flows through the entire ecosystem while actively contributing to process improvements and automation initiatives that enhance operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Perform, establish, and enhance data quality and validation procedures - execute daily business rule validation checks, identify and investigate data discrepancies, highlight areas of risk, and surface opportunities for automation or process improvement across numerous critical data pipelines
- Develop comprehensive understanding of the reference data ecosystem - gain expertise in exchange traded derivatives products and product offerings, market structure, data standards, and end-to-end architecture from source data feeds through end user consumption
- Leverage data analysis tools and maintain process documentation - maintain clear documentation and visibility into these procedures via operational reports, dashboards, and other channels to communicate data quality status, noteworthy findings and recommendations to cross-functional teams
- Build relationshipswith internal stakeholders and external partners by playing a key role in the successful delivery of data feed integrations from requirement gathering, troubleshooting, issue resolution, and version tracking
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related quantitative field
- 1 year of experience in data analysis, financial services operations, or related analytical role
- Strong analytical mindset with exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general Microsoft Office suite
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to explain technical concepts clearly
- Genuine interest in financial markets and data-driven problem solving
Preferred:
- Exposure to financial derivatives, capital markets, or banking operations
- Foundational knowledge of SQL for data querying and analysis
- Basic programming skills (Python, VBA, or similar scripting languages)
- Understanding of data quality frameworks, ETL concepts, or data architecture principles
- Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, or similar)
- Familiarity with process improvement methodologies
