Position Summary:
The Shipping & Receiving Clerk is responsible for the accurate and timely handling of incoming and outgoing shipments in a manufacturing environment. This position ensures that materials, parts, and products are received, stored, and shipped according to company procedures and customer requirements. This position also includes local driving duties to pick up or deliver materials, supplies, or equipment as needed. The role requires strong attention to detail, effective communication, and adherence to safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against packing slips and purchase orders, document discrepancies and damages.
- Prepare, package, label, and coordinate outgoing shipments according to customer specifications and shipping regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of shipping and receiving transactions in the ERP or inventory management system.
- Load and unload trucks using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment.
- Organize and maintain inventory in designated storage areas; ensure materials are stored safely and efficiently.
- Communicate with carriers, vendors, and internal departments to resolve shipping or receiving issues promptly.
- Assist with cycle counts and physical inventories as needed.
- Follow all company policies and safety procedures; maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Local driving duties to pick up or deliver materials, supplies, or equipment as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support warehouse and production operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship or Valid Permanent Resident status is required.
- 1–2 years of shipping/receiving or warehouse experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting preferred.
- Valid forklift certification or willingness to obtain one.
- Basic computer skills: experience with ERP systems is a plus.
- Ability to lift and move objects up to [50 lbs] regularly.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Good communication skills and a commitment to safety.
Physical Requirements
The physical requirements of this position include but are not limited to those listed below.
- Frequent standing, walking, and bending.
- Frequent lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in a warehouse or manufacturing environment with exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels.
- The ability to wear proper personal protective equipment, including earplugs, safety glasses, safety shoes, etc.
