About the Role:
You'll be the lead technician in a growing, self-contained service department maintaining a purpose-built fleet of emergency response and support vehicles. From ambulances to ATVs, motorcycles to generators, and everything in between—this is not your average mechanic job. You'll have real ownership over projects and space to innovate.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Lead Technician supports the Fleet Manager in the day-to-day management of Adventure Medics fleet of vehicles and equipment. This position ensures the vehicles and associated equipment are properly maintained and ready to deploy at all times.
· Perform regular scheduled maintenance & inspections
· Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical & hydraulic systems
· Execute preventative maintenance strategies
· Overhaul components & systems as needed
· Fabricate, weld, and modify equipment for specialized field use
· Maintain accurate records and logs of service and repairs
· Work closely with the Fleet Manager to build and outfit a shop that fits our needs
· Maintain a safe, clean, and organized workspace
· Use diagnostic software and maintain digital records
· Train and educate new staff on vehicle basics and operational nuances during orientation
· Assist in transporting vehicles between locations when needed
· Perform seasonal changeover and proper storage of equipment
· Coordinate with outside vendors to facilitate additional service needs
· Collaborate with a full-time Shop Assistant
· Fleet inventory includes: Ambulances, Vans, 4x4 Trucks, SUV's, Trailers, UTVs, ATVs, Motorcycles, Generators, and Farm Equipment
· Shared responsibility of Fleet “On-Duty” phone
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
· Valid driver's license with clean driving record with motorcycle endorsement
· Knowledge of DOT vehicle requirements and compliance
· ASE Master Technician preferred
· Strong organizational and time-management skills
· Experienced in automotive, small engine, and diesel systems
· Familiarity and upkeep with fleet maintenance software
· Strong communication and teamwork skills
· Willing and able to teach others
· Ability to lift and move equipment (50+ lbs)
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in the automotive industry
· Must have and maintain a personal set of professional tools appropriate for the job
· Excited to be part of something bigger than a typical garage
The pay range for this role is:32 - 38 USD per hour(Bend Headquarters)
