Position Summary
As our Cash Control Analyst, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of all cash-related activities across the hospital. You’ll serve as a central point of control for daily deposits, reconciliation, and cash flow monitoring—supporting teams across departments to ensure that our financial health keeps pace with our clinical excellence.
This is not your typical back-office finance role. You’ll collaborate with Patient Access, Accounting, Revenue Cycle, and Leadership to optimize processes and elevate performance. Key Responsibilities
- Accurately post and reconcile daily cash receipts from all hospital departments, including patient payments, lockbox activity, and third-party reimbursements.
- Investigate discrepancies and ensure timely resolution of variances, working closely with department managers and vendors.
- Monitor and maintain cash flow tracking tools; forecast expected vs. actual trends to inform decision-making.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, journal entries, and audit preparation.
- Partner with revenue cycle and patient financial services to ensure clean data flow and system integrity.
- Continuously identify and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy, speed, and transparency in cash handling.
- Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with hospital policies and applicable regulations.
What We’re Looking For
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2+ years of relevant experience in banking, accounting, cash posting, reconciliation, financial analysis, or a related field (healthcare experience is a plus!).
- Detail-obsessed with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems (MEDITECH experience is a bonus).
- Strong communication skills—able to work across teams and clearly explain findings.
