POSITION SUMMARY
-
The Lactation Nurse is responsible for providing safe, family-centered patient care by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating lactation plans for the breastfeeding dyad, as well as for the pumping parent, and is fully collaborative with the patient, patient’s family, significant others, and members of the healthcare team. The Lactation Nurse demonstrates specialized knowledge and clinical expertise in breastfeeding and human lactation.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Education
-
Associates Degree in Nursing or equivalent
-
Minimum Experience
-
Required Registration/License/Certification
-
BLS within 90 days of DOH/Transfer
-
NRP is required within 12 months of DOH/Transfer.

Licensed or eligible for licensing in State as RN.

Preferred Experience

Maternal Child, particularly NICU experience
