Position Overview
The Registered Nurse (RN) plays a vital role in delivering direct and indirect patient care services, ensuring that each patient's psychosocial, physical, and restorative needs are met. The RN is committed to practicing compassion and respect for the dignity and worth of every individual while adhering to the ethical guidelines of nursing practice. Communication is key in this role, as the RN collaborates effectively with patients, families, visitors, colleagues, physicians, leadership, and volunteers to maintain a high standard of patient care.

The RN participates in maintaining a healthy work environment by managing relationships with coworkers and healthcare teams while responding swiftly and accurately to emergencies and changes in patient condition. Under general supervision, the RN provides safe, effective care within the scope of their license and the hospital's policies and procedures.
The RN will demonstrate leadership by ensuring that care is delivered in a way that reflects the highest standards of patient experience, quality, and safety, while also assisting in the smooth operation of the department.
Compensation for this position is based on experience and qualifications, starting at $34.00 per hour.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with managing nursing services, ensuring high-quality care is provided to patients.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, staff, and leadership to maintain safety and compassionate care.
- Support nursing teams in improving patient outcomes and adhering to protocols.
- Respond to emergencies and changes in patient condition quickly and appropriately.
- Help manage the nursing department, delegate tasks, and oversee daily activities.
- Provide direct care under supervision, maintaining a focus on excellent patient care.
- Foster a positive, supportive work environment to uphold high patient care standards.
Position Requirements:
Minimum Education:
- Graduate of a nursing program; Associate's Degree in Nursing required, Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Experience:
- Previous experience as a registered nurse is not required but is preferred, especially in acute care or clinic settings.
- One year of prior experience in a similar role is preferred.
Required Registration/License/Certification:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association at the time of hire.
- ACLS and PALS certifications within one year of hire.
- NIHSS training and certification within one year of hire.
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training and certification within one year of hire.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a compassionate approach to patient care.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations, standards, and accreditation requirements.
- Competency in delivering safe, effective care within the scope of practice and hospital policies.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift, position, transfer, and carry patients up to 50 pounds or more.
- Manual dexterity and mobility required for patient care tasks.
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and movement.
- Frequent bending, squatting, twisting, turning, and reaching.
- Ability to see clearly at distances of 20 inches or less.
Working Conditions:
- Regular exposure to bloodborne pathogens, bodily fluids, and other infectious materials.
- Frequent exposure to electrical, mechanical, and environmental hazards.
- Occasional exposure to unpleasant odors, chemicals, and accidents.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Continuous standing and walking for extended periods greater than 8 hours.
