The HR Generalist will provide a broad range of support to CMH objectives, strategic goals, and human resource/organizational development initiatives. The position will proactively partner with the HR Manager, and with leaders and staff to achieve objectives, coach and counsel to maximize employee engagement at all levels in order to achieve and sustain a positive employee relations environment.
This position will also perform diverse assignments including evaluation/redesign of workflow, implementation of new technology, recruitment, compensation, benefits management, performance management, organizational development, change management, employee relations, and other special projects as assigned. This position will exercise independent judgment and decision-making within the scope of the job and is responsible for HR oversight during the absence or unavailability of the HR Manager. Serves as a lead or resource to HR Department caregivers.
Job Requirements
Knowledge of Skill / Ability / to: Effectively provide support for recruitment activities for all phases of recruitment and retention. Must exhibit leadership attribute as well as a commitment to the philosophy of Columbia Memorial Hospital. Proficient experience in computer software including HR specific programs and Microsoft-based programs. Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills required. Excellent interpersonal relation skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must meet deadlines and work with constant interruptions and with detailed information and data.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, finance, accounting or personnel management, or the equivalent of 5 years experience in human resources preferred.
Physical Demands and Work Environment Conditions / ADA Compliance
Position involves standing, walking, stooping, and occasional carrying and lifting of lightweight materials (up to 20 pounds). May be required to sit for extended periods of time. Requires visual acuity and depth perception to recognize words and numbers; and hand and finger dexterity and hand/eye coordination to use a computer keyboard and common office equipment.
