Provides professional nursing care within an assigned unit; coordinates care planning with other disciplines.
Position Qualifications:
Minimum Education: Associate’s Degree in Nursing
Minimum Experience: One-year previous clinical experience in area of expertise
or
Licensed Paramedic with a minimum of 1-year runtime experience, preferably current
or
Successful completion of Nurse Externship in an emergency department with two letters of recommendation
Required Training: BLS
ACLS and PALS must be obtained within one years of hire
Required License/Registration: Current WV RN License
Preferred Training: TNCC
Physical Demands: Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching
Prolonged standing and walking
Considerably heavy lifting. Lifts, positions, pushes, and transfers patients, supplies, and equipment
Working Conditions: The Emergency Department can, and often is, a fast paced and demanding work environment that requires the ability to multitask, think quickly, and work effectively as a critical team member. Employees will be:
Regularly exposed to the risk of blood borne diseases
Have contact with patients under a wide variety of circumstances
May be exposed to patient elements
Exposed to unpleasant elements (accidents, injuries, and illness)
Required to handle emergency or crisis situations
Subject to irregular hours
Experience pressure due to multiple calls and inquires
