Some of these positions are being advertised prior to contract renewals with a view to attracting suitably qualified Bermudians, PRC Holders, Divorced Parent of a Bermudian Child or Non-Bermudian with a qualifying Bermudian connection.
Key responsibilities include:
- Gives direct patient care safely and efficiently.
- Demonstrates exceptional decision-making abilities in critical situations.
- Utilizes the nursing process and develops a nursing care plan for each assigned patient.
- Acts as a patient advocate, communicating between patient, family and other members of the health team.
- Initiates and participates in patient care conferences.
- Uses equipment and supplies in a safe and economical manner.
- Assigns, advises and directs other support personnel as required.
- Assumes in-charge duties as required.
- Assumes responsibility for professional development by participating in continuing education programmes, keeping current with professional literature, and participating in professional organizations.
Qualifications &/ Registration required:
- Registered Nurse with Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma from an accredited institution.
- Critical Care Nursing course certification
- Trauma nurse Core Course (TNCC) certification – Emergency Nurses Association preferred.
- Current registration as required by the Bermuda Nursing Council.
- Two years continuous recent experience as a Registered Nurse in an ICU.
- Current certifications: American Heart Association (AHA), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Basic Life Support (BLS), IV Therapy.
- Experience in Physical assessment essential.
- Demonstrated knowledge and clinical competencies.
Schedule: 35 hrs per week. Including weekends and Public Holidays.
Salary scale: NS21-30
Starting Salary: $75,000.01 per annum
Pre-employment substance abuse screening is mandatory for all successful candidates.
