Organization Mission
The Sigma Alpha Epsilon Foundation raises and manages funds to support the educational initiatives of the Fraternity as well as the upkeep and operation of the Levere Memorial Temple. Elevating our members’ experience to the highest levels at all times, learning how to become True Gentlemen and taking that knowledge out into the world. We depend on the generosity of our alumni to support the mission of Sigma Alpha Epsilon.

General Overview
The Gift Officer will be responsible for developing and implementing our gift initiatives. The Gift Officer will manage and cultivate relationships with existing gift prospects and identify new prospects. An ability to empathize with donors and communicate our organization's mission is vital.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Minimum 5 years of sales experience

  • Nonprofit fundraising or donor relations experience is strongly preferred

  • SAE membership is not required, but Greek organization affiliation experience is strongly preferred

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills - Ability to establish effective relationships with Sigma Alpha Epsilon staff, donors, and volunteers. Comfort speaking with high-net-worth individuals.

  • Ability to be self-motivated and task-oriented - Ability to handle multiple projects, meet deadlines, and effectively set and manage priorities.

  • Exceptional organizational skills and high attention to detail.

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively.

  • Good computer skills and strong knowledge of database programs, including Salesforce.

  • Understanding of and personal commitment to Sigma Alpha Epsilon’s mission.

Specific Duties

  • Establish and maintain relationships with donors, prospective donors, staff, and volunteers.

  • Secure gifts in excess of $25k to the Annual Loyalty Fund each month

  • Work in close partnership with the Foundation CEO to develop a major gift pipeline.

  • Maintain a well-documented portfolio.

  • Travel to meet with donors and prospective donors. Make direct, face-to-face solicitations.

  • Prepare development materials to support the donor relationship

  • Assist with donor communications

  • Execute stewardship phone calls with gift prospects and established donors.

  • Provide potential Foundation content for The Record.

  • You will receive a $500 a month bonus for hitting a target of $25k, multiples of bonus to be paid for each $25k (for example, $50k received $1k, and $100k receives $2k). Bonus is only paid on ALF (Annual Fund) donations received, not committed/pledged donations. CAF (Chapter Allocation Fund), CEF (Chapter Education Fund), and Bequests do not retire targets or generate bonuses.
